THE MALI JENKINS FUND
I received information about this fund recently and thought that you as members of our Branch would like to know about it. The Fund exists to help people who live with Parkinson’s when other organisations have gone as far as they can financially. The Fund can give grants to people who need financial help for a specific item/s. Some of theareas the fund has helped with last year are as follows: Help to purchase: a riser recliner chair, a wheelchair with power pack, carpets, scooter, a computer and stair lift to name but a few.
As a committee we are planning to try and get someone from the fund to come and talk about the fund at one of your meetings.
In general feedback that has been received shows that applicants find the application process straightforward, efficient and easy to understand.
If anybody needs extra help to purchase something to help make their daily life easier, and thinks this fund could help them, please contact Julia Briars-Filby (Branch Support Link) or myself Karen Rea (Branch Secretary).
